Lanark Presbytery covers the Clydesdale District of South Lanarkshire, around the upper reaches of the River Clyde. It is largely a rural area, the largest towns being Carluke and Lanark. There are currently 26 Congregations in Lanark Presbytery, organised into 20 "Charges".

The presbytery covers the area from Fort William in the East to Mallaig and the Small Isles to the West, Ardnamurchan Peninsula, as far North as Fort Augustus, and as far South as Duror.
