JLNVB will donate $45,000 towards the creation of children's activities at the Haven Family Center. In September 1996, the Junior League dedicated the new education center at Virginia Zoological Park in Norfolk. Each spring, JLNVB offers community response grants totalling $5,000 to $10,000. The Career Clothes Closet provides interview clothing to women ending their reliance on government assistance.

The organization focuses its community service to benefit Families-at-Risk in Richmond, Virginia through parenting support initiatives. Believing that there will never be a greater influence on a child than a parent, the League works to develop and enhance parenting skills.
