JLE~NS has an open and diverse membership of 600 women from over 30 communities in the Chicago metropolitan area, providing a powerful catalyst for positive change and improvement in their communities.

Trained women volunteer for a variety of community projects that benefit children, focusing on issues relating to children at risk.

Projects selected each year are aligned with the JL mission and vision such as Sojourn Shelter/Project H.O.P.E. Medical Advocates where members are given 40 hours of domestic violence training and then counsel victims of domestic violence.

Current projects include League Locker distibuting school supplies to needy children; Done in a Day (D.I.A.D.)providing short term project assistance; Reading Buddies and Books by the Bushel.
