Subdisciplines of the department include behavioral neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and developmental psychology.

This baccalaureate program was established in 1999. Students may concentrate on cognitive neuroscience, cognitive psychology, computational modeling, linguistics, or philosophy.

Developmental psychology, perception and cognition, and psychobiology are among the areas of focus of the Department of Psychology.

Visual and auditory perception, experimental psychology, and mathematical psychology predominate the curriculum and research in the Department of Cognitive Sciences.

This Cognitive Science Department was the first one established in the world. It provides broad training in the neurobiological processes of the brain, in behavior-related studies, and in computational mechanisms and representations.

The Department specializes in these related areas: cognitive and perceptual sciences, developmental and evolutionary psychology, and neuroscience and behavior. For undergraduate students, it offers a B.S. in biopsychology.

The Psychology Department houses the Perceptual Science Laboratory.
