A quarterly journal of the NZAA, between 1957-1987, it was known as the New Zealand Archaeological Association Newsletter. The newsletter provides an outlet for shorter papers connected with archaeology of New Zealand and the Pacific.

The object of this annual journal is to publish papers on all aspects of prehistoric and historic archaeology in New Zealand, relevant Pacific archaeology, palaeoenvironments, linguistics, ethnography, and archaeological method.
