Headwaters Murrelet Project
A scientific study of the Marbled Murrelet in northern California. The federal and California governments, and the Pacific Lumber Company have proposed a transfer of lands and assets. The Headwaters Forest Complex, which includes large stands of approximately 7,500 acre old-growth Redwood forest, will be transferred to public ownership as part of the proposed exchange. This study will examine the effect of the proposed land transfer on the conservation and continued survival of the Murrelet.
