KRISO conducts research and development on the technologies for maritime safety, preservation of the ocean environment and the utilization of ocean resources.

NORI has carried out various observations not only for ocean current data, but also for water temperature and salinity at about 4,200 stations since 1982. Results have been used for the issue of ocean current chart and marine development.
