Fannin Battleground State Historical Park
On March 20, 1836, at this site, Colonel J. W. Fannin surrendered himself and 284 of his men after the Battle of Coleto. Activities in this day-use park include historical study and picnicking.
Goliad State Historical Park
located on the San Antonio River, contains a refurbished replica of Mission Nuestra Senora del Espiritu Santo de Zuniga. Activities include camping, picnicking, hiking, fishing, boating, swimming, nature study, petting zoo, and historical study.
Palmetto State Park
Named for the tropical Dwarf Palmetto plant found there, abuts the San Marcos River and also has a 4-acre oxbow lake. Activities include camping, picnicking, hiking, fishing, birding, nature study, pedal boat rentals, swimming, tubing, and canoeing.
