The only Museum in the Western Hemisphere solely dedicated to the collection of arms, armor and art. Be carried away, back to Medieval and Renaissance Europe, to feudal Japan, and even to the Mediterranean cradles of civilization.

The institution, founded by Stephen Salisbury III "for the benefit of all the people," today houses more than 35,000 works of art representing more than 50 centuries of creative spirit. Thirty-five galleries offer visitors a walk through time and across cultures, from ancient Egypt, Rome and Greece including the largest and finest group of Antiochin mosaics in America.

Established in 1877, the WHM collects and interprets the city's history through its permanent exhibits of relics, clothing, and writings.
