The mission of the Maryland Citizens Defense League is to protect and expand the civil rights of the citizens of the State of Maryland, including the right of all law-abiding citizens to own, possess, transfer, purchase, and transport firearms for legitimate, law-abiding reasons, including, but not limited to, the right to engage in the shooting sports and the right of self-defense, by advocating the repeal of state, federal, and local restrictions.

Maryland Citizens for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms was created to publicize information on the historical right of the people to keep and carry firearms for self defense, the modern research showing the value to society of the armed peaceable citizen, and to amend the Maryland Constitution to protect the people of Maryland from further infringement of that right.
