Areas covered include the Illinois River and tributaries from Ottawa, Illinois, to the confluence with the Mississippi at Grafton, Illinois.

During the late fall, winter and early spring, the NCRFC issues weekly River Ice Statements pertaining to the channel conditions and ice coverage for Lock and Dams along the mainstems of the Mississippi River and Illinois River.

Offers Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Services (AHPS) for Illinois river and river basin areas, including tabular, graphic and flood stage data.
