Created through the merger of Hamilton's two largest hospital corporations (Chedoke-McMaster and Hamilton Civic Hospitals). HHS provides general adult services in medicine, surgery, psychiatry and emergency services in addition to five main health programs; childrens health, womens health, specialty adult services, specialized rehabilitation and specialty adult services.

Affiliated with the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University and Mohawk College, and includes the former St. Joseph's Hospital and Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital. Describes services, structure and administration.
