The AAASP is designed to establish coordinated interdisciplinary study of the history and culture, the social and economic issues, and the political institutions and processes that have shaped the experiences of people of African ancestry.

The Cell and Molecular Biology Program is the largest interdisciplinary graduate training program at Duke. Currently more than 90 students are enrolled in 11 departments of the Biological Sciences with more than 130 faculty participants.
