Cell and Molecular Biology Program
The Cell and Molecular Biology Program is the largest interdisciplinary graduate training program at Duke. Currently more than 90 students are enrolled in 11 departments of the Biological Sciences with more than 130 faculty participants.
Comparative Area Studies Program
The CAS Program deals with the interdisciplinary study of societies and cultures of a particular region of the world, complemented with a concentration in a second world area and comparative study of international issues.
Environmental Sciences and Policy Program
This interdisciplinary major permits students to combine studies in the natural sciences and engineering with courses in social sciences and humanities around general focus areas and themes.
Film and Video Program
The Program in Film and Video is an interdisciplinary course of study that introduces students to the critical analysis of new communications technologies: film, photography, and television. The range of courses students elect gives them film and video studies in the context of what is now known as cultural studies.
Health Policy Certificate Program
The program speaks to the needs of students preparing for careers in health care policy, management and the associated professions as the American health care industry enters into period of rapid and profound change. The certificate may be viewed as an interdisciplinary major to denote students who have obtained expertise in the health policy area.
