Dairy/Livestock
Animal Science majors receive both theoretical and hands-on education in the management of livestock, dairy cattle, poultry and horses. Students interested in dairy or livestock production concentrate on the influence of genetics, physiology, nutrition, and health on the economic production of animals.
Equine Studies
The University of Connecticut currently maintains approximately 85 horses and specializes in the breeding of Morgans. The program offers extensive academic and extracurricular opportunities.
Horticulture
Program reflects the diversity of the industry in Connecticut, offering balanced curricula covering many aspects of plant science. Students may choose to emphasize courses relating to Nursery and Landscaping or Floriculture.
Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture
Offers technical and applied education in horticulture and animal science. Graduates receive an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree.
