Allied Health Department
Collaborates with regional clinical educational centers to provide comprehensive learning opportunities utilizing innovative technologies in the fields of diagnostic medical sonography, dietetics, fitness, health information technology, nuclear medicine, pharmacy, radiation therapy and radiography.
Dietetic Technology
Associate in Science Degree program leading to the ability to become a registered dietetic technician. Approved by the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
Fitness Specialist
Certificate program which prepares students for employment in a variety of settings, such as health clubs, gyms, YMCAs and corporate wellness programs. Program includes 6.5 credits that must be completed at Southern Connecticut State University.
Health Information Management Technology
Prepares individuals to process, maintain, compile and report medical information for reimbursement, facilities planning, marketing, risk management, utilization management, quality assessment and research. The program includes practica in a clinical setting.
Human Services
Associate in Science Degree and Certificate programs with sequential courses of study designed to develop knowledge in personality patterns and behavior, roles and functions of community resources and skills in each curriculum option to provide training for employment in a variety of professional areas, including social agencies, community action programs, mental health centers, schools, health and welfare planning bodies, child care agencies and elderly services agencies.
Pharmacy Technician
Associate in Science Degree or Certificate programs which prepares individuals to work under the supervision of registered pharmacists providing care in hospitals, clinics, extended care facilities, nursing homes and other organized health care settings. The program includes a 300-hour practicum in a pharmacy setting.
Pre-Allied Health
Certificate program providing students with the educational background necessary to facilitate admission into an Allied Health degree or certificate program.
Radiologic Technology
Programs in four areas: Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy and Radiography.
