The idi n'ilelli, or Azawakh, is an African hound of ancient origin. His native region is situated in the southern Sahara and the sub-Saharan Sahel. He is raised principally by the Tuareg nomads who have bred these hounds for millennia according to strict cytogenetic and aesthetic criteria.
