Following imports from England in 1974, the present Association was formed in 1975 for the purpose of development, registration and promotion of South Devon cattle.

Sampson McGregor is located at Iron Springs near Bonnyville, Alberta. They raise purebred South Devon and commercial Red Angus cattle.
